When Taylor Cole awakens from a coma after a hit-and-run accident, she discovers that her life has completely changed and that she is being stalked, through her dreams. Being stalked in her dreams is terrifying enough but when he knows that she is watching, it makes her a target too. Now she is forced to work with the homicide detective in charge of the case, Cade Wills, who does not believe a word Taylor says and also represents an attraction that is hard to resist. Will they find her stalker before he is able to take someone that Taylor cares for? Or is she about to become a victim too?

Sending shivers down the spine, Night Stalker gives a graphic account of the terror that exists in the darkness. After losing everything when she is in an accident, Taylor never expected to gain a power so terrifying that it would encroach on her very existence. I found myself enjoying the attraction that occurs between Cade and Taylor, the way they try to deny it and then how it overtakes their own reasoning. These two characters held my attention with their, will I and won't I approach but I especially loved how Taylor was able to cope with the enormous strain on her sanity after seeing what she did. Ms. Beaty has been able to create a fabulous story that incorporates suspense, drama and a whole lot of thrills within these pages. If you love your romance with a plenty of paranormal suspense then you must get your copy of Night Stalker today.

Taylor Cole awakens from a coma following a hit-and-run accident to find her life completely changed. Once she had a life, a boyfriend, and a job, but thanks to whatever powers that be, Taylor's nights are now spent seeing horrifying scenes. Her latest visions are that of a serial killer who targets beautiful women. Try as she might, Taylor can never see the murderer's face, yet the last vision leaves Taylor scared because it seems as if the person can sense she's there. Enter Detective Cade Wills, who has been assigned to the gruesome murders. At first he's skeptical of Taylor's visions, but soon he realizes just how accurate they are...and how much danger they are putting her in.

Due to bizarre plot twists and stilted characters, NIGHT STALKER by Paula Beaty definitely left this reviewer wanting more. With a premise such as this, it was rather disappointing to find the two main characters lacking any kind of chemistry, and a villain who could be cartoonish at times. The reactions of Taylor and Cade at certain points throughout the book caused an eyebrow to raise a time or two, and the secondary characters faded into the background.

All in all, NIGHT STALKER, while it will likely appeal to fans of Paula Beaty, has a great basis but lacks the substance to back it up.

Eight months and the dreams never end. Taylor Cole’s dreams are plagued with images that haunt her even when awake. The latest dreams are even worse. Week after week she “sees” a man, known only as the Night Stalker, kill innocent women. However, something has changed and it appears that she may be his next victim. Has she waited too long to tell the police?

Detective Cade Wills is the lead on the Night Stalker murder investigation and has resolved to catch this killer before another innocent woman is killed. At this point he will even entertain a more unorthodox approach to gathering clues. When Taylor provides details no one but his team should know he believes in her abilities. However, when she admits details that even he is unaware of he knows this beautiful woman is in danger. Can he keep her safe from a threat that hasn’t made a mistake yet?

The initial scene in Night Stalker immediately grabbed my attention and had me anxious to learn more. As the story progresses readers will become involved in the murder investigation and the romance that slowly develops between Taylor and Cade. Night Stalker is a suspense with an unusual premise behind it and Ms. Beaty manages to create some unexpected turns of events. There are a few aspects of the story that are left unexplained and readers will be left to draw their own conclusions. However, there are multiple scenes within the story that are filled with tension and will have readers holding their breath in anticipation.

Taylor Cole has frightening nightmares. She sees a serial murderer kill young women. Taylor never asked for this “gift”. Eight months go she was in a terrible car accident that left her in a coma for two weeks. Upon awakening, the dreams began. Only now she doesn’t see murder in her sleep, but when she is awake as well. Worse still, the killer knows she is there, knows her name, knows where she lives. Taylor is now frightened that she will be the next victim. Can the hot and sexy police detective Cade Wills keep her safe or will the murderer take the woman he is quickly falling in love with?

Ooh la la, this is one hot and sexy tale! Paula Beaty’s offer of NIGHT STALKER is not a unique story, but is spectacular in its delivery and scorching in the attraction between our two leading characters. Taylor is a young woman who is afraid she will never be able to live a normal life. Her older sister is her rock. The one that makes notes of her dreams and cares for her when the dreams become too much for her to bear. While this reviewer enjoys a stronger leading lady, before the book’s last page Taylor comes into her own in a most magnificent way. Cade is the ultimate leading man. YUMMY! Strong, handsome and of course the hero of the tale, female readers will sigh in contentment at the author’s detailed descriptions of the chemistry between Cade and Taylor.

A word of caution, there are parts of this book that are not for the faint at heart including a gang rape scene of a man. The detailed violence also might warrant a warning for a reader not into graphic scenes. This reviewer is not a huge paranormal fan, but mystery and suspense lovers will not find NIGHT STALKER a disappointment. Definitely a recommended read for paranormal readers that like a good bit of romance tossed in for good measure.

Taylor Cole once led a normal life, until she was struck by a car and left temporarily in a coma. She had a boyfriend, friends, and her sanity, but now she is known as the crazy person in apartment 2B. She lives with her older sister Lana who is trying to help Taylor during this difficult period in her life. People think she has lost her mind because she is having nightly dreams of a man murdering women. These visions are all coming true, too. Can they find the murderer before Taylor goes completely insane?

Cade Wills is the lead homicide detective in charge of the case of the Night Stalker. He meets Taylor and is, at first, skeptical about her visions. Soon though, he is a believer. Cade tries to prevent the attraction he feels for Taylor from escalating out of control. The more he involves himself with Taylor though, the closer he comes to falling in love with her.

The killer draws Taylor further into his evil world while she tries to help Cade figure out who the stalker is. Through her visions, the killer discovers Taylor’s identity and after an incident occurs at her apartment, Cade whisks Taylor away so he can protect her. Through all the emotional upheaval, Cade and Taylor draw closer together. Cade realizes he loves Taylor when she places herself in danger. Taylor has to weed through her emotions to discover her true feelings for Cade.

A very compelling and suspenseful story filled with tension and drama. Ms. Beaty manages to make you feel deep emotions for the stalker. Even at the end of the book this author has a big surprise for her readers. You will not regret reading this book. Make sure to get it a.s.a.p.
